3 reasons why you’ll find capsule wardrobes are a game changer!

So, what is a capsule wardrobe?
In a nutshell, a capsule wardrobe is a small, versatile collection of clothes that can be mixed and matched to create a variety of outfits.
What are 3 main benefits of a capsule wardrobe?
- Cost effective: A capsule wardrobe is a useful tool when styling on a budget, as it enables you to focus on buying a few high-quality, versatile pieces rather than to keep splurging on a large number of cheaper, trendier or more niche items. By making careful shopping selections and investing in a small number of timeless, well-made pieces, you'll be able to create a variety of looks without constantly spending a vast amount of your hard-earned cash. This spend-savvy approach works even harder to save those pennies as due to the adaptable nature of a capsule closet, there should be little need to continually buy new clothes to add variety or to keep up with changing trends.
- Organisation: Ever been in a rush to get ready for [insert daily activity / event of your choice] and found yourself in a situation of major wardrobe disarray? Enter the capsule wardrobes as a fantastic way of adding order to your overall closet management. For example, building a capsule around a particular element of your lifestyle and particularly one where you know you have limited time to get ready (i.e. ‘work’, ‘school runs’, ‘nights out’ etc.) can actually help you to maintain a logical sense of structure to your closet. Thus, making it super quick and easy for you to style and select your outfits without fluster and despair!
- Sustainability: Finally, capsule wardrobes are a great way to support the environment and to shop more sustainably. Whilst our socials would have you believe that constant shopping for new clothes is the only way to remain bang on trend, investing in quality key pieces and adapting these looks, can massively help to limit overconsumption and reduce waste. This of course, doesn’t mean that we do not ever shop (erm, phew!). However, we simply do so more wisely through regular review and editing of a collection, choosing to freshen up pieces within a capsule wardrobe when those are no longer serving us and instead, aim to recycle or sell the items being replaced.
A capsule closet can always be of benefit to at least one area of your lifestyle. Mixing and matching key pieces within a capsule wardrobe will also give you a license for styling flair and creativity within a limited and less daunting range of clothing items.
